SANTA CLARA, Calif. & GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2006--O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ:OIIM - News), a leading supplier of innovative power management, and security components and systems for the Computer, Consumer, Industrial, and Communications markets, received 18 claims under Japan patent number 3,742,835 for its Audio Controller invention.
The patented Audio Controller invention is for use in portable electronic devices, such as notebook computers. It is adapted to play audio content from stored digital audio data on an audio CD medium when the device is powered off, which results in minimal notebook power consumption and significantly extended audio playtime.
