O2Micro Receives Lamp Driving Topology Inverter Patent

SANTA CLARA, Calif. & GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 2003--O2Micro® International Limited (Nasdaq:OIIM - News), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security ICs to mobile computer and communications manufacturers, was granted 34 claims under United States patent number 6,559,606 for its Lamp Driving Topology.

Lamp Driving Topology provides a methodology to drive two lamps in series without increasing transformer cost for supplying the striking voltage to ignite the lamps. This patented architecture is ideal for multiple CCFL LCD Monitor and LCD TV displays.
